Video Games Going To The Pot – Literally!

Home : Games : Articles

We’ve all played the little aiming games while taking a pee at the urinals. But a Belgian duo of software developers are taking the concept to a new level with their urinal-based video game “Place to Pee”. And the crazy thing is that women can play too!

I don’t think that there are too many guys out there that can seriously deny ever taking aim at something in the urinal while taking a pee. Whether it was one of those pink urinal cakes or a cigarette butt at the bottom of the urinal, every man out there has tried to hit one of these objects with their pee. Unfortunately, women don’t have the so-called luxury of doing the same thing – until now that is.

Two Belgian men decided that taking a pee in a urinal wasn’t fun enough and have decided to institute a little more entertainment into the process. Werner Dupont, a software engineer, and Bart Geraets, an electrical engineer, have recently developed a game called “Place to Pee”.

The game is designed to allow two people at a time to compete against each other in a couple of different games. The first game involves a ski race between players, or pee-ers if you will, as they duel it out on a slalom ski course. The second game is more of an action-oriented one as it sees players engaged in a fierce battle with aliens where they must blast as many of them as they can.

And while the concept of being able to blast aliens with your urine or out-ski your pee mate to victory is very interesting, there may be one element to this story that over shadows all the other stuff.

That element happens to be the fact that Dupont and Geraets have made concessions for women to play the game as well. While it might not seem possible (or just seem too butch) for a female to compete in Place to Pee, it is possible with the use of a special cone. Supposedly, women will be able to use the cone to guide their urine towards aliens or the finish line.

Now you may be wondering where an idea like this would actually come from. Well Werner Dupont and Bart Geraets are big beer enthusiasts and the blueprint for Place to Pee came to them while they were drinking.

Probably one too many uneventful trips to the bathroom that night brought on the thoughts for the game. The two also boasted of their heritage as well saying, “This thing had to be invented by Belgian people and that's what we are”. Wherever the idea came from, it’s here.

But while the idea and drive may be there, it’s no guarantee that this game will ever hit the shelves….or urinals.

The Belgian police seemed to take offense to an earlier attempt at such a urinal game featured at the GamePower Expo in Gent, Belgium. The game allowed players to control a car while peeing but if their pee wasn’t controlled well enough, they were labeled a drunk driver.

The Belgian police labeled this game an act of indecency and it was subsequently banned. We can only hope that the same thing doesn’t happen to Place to Pee as it seems like a very fun concept. Plus the urinal cakes just don’t seem to cut it anymore.
