This demo will let you try out Base Wars, one of Tachyon's multiplayer games. You will play as either the GalSpan or Bora teams, as you advance through ten technology levels, each giving you access to better weapons, hardware, and base defenses. You will gain experience points for collecting crystals that are scattered throughout the "Fringe" of outer space, and for eliminating the opposing team's forces. When gathered crystals are deposited at the team base, the entire team will have access to higher levels.

Also included is an enhanced version of the six single-player missions from the original Tachyon: The Fringe demo.
